STUDENT COUNCIL

Union School is a modern-day classic educational institution. As any other prestigious school on earth, this institution clearly understands that part of its mission, is to build world leaders and good citizens for tomorrow.

To that end, it engages its students in a number of constructive activities aimed at instilling that sense of good leadership and/or citizenship in all of them. That is why, as it is the case in any good school, there exists also a student council entity at Union School

GRADUATING REQUIREMENTS

As of the 9th grade, all students must earn the following academic credits to graduate:

4    English: 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade English
1    Communications/Ethics
3    Math: Geometry, Algebra II and Trig,, Pre-Calculus I, Review Math, Adv. Math 123
3    Science: Earth Science,     Biology, Chemistry, Physics
1    Math or Science credit at the Senior Level
4    Social Studies: World History I & II, United States History, Haitian Studies
3    Foreign Languages: French, Spanish
2    P.E.
˝   Computer Literacy
˝   Health
2
    Electives: Computers, Current Events, Sociology/Economics, Studio Art, Advanced Humanities, Yearbook

24 Credits in Total.

SERVICE CREDIT REQUIREMENT

All secondary Union School students will accumulate 1 credit of service to the school and/or the community. Students will be expected to contribute 40 hours of service while they are in grades 7, 8, 9 and again another 40 hours while they are in grades 10, 11, 12. Forty hours will constitute ˝ credit. This credit is earned through successful completion of membership and participation in Student Government, Service Club, Teachers’ Aide, peer tutoring, or any other verifiable service activities. Transfer students at the high school level must earn a minimum of 21 academic credits and ˝ credit of service to school or community.
